Le 178 is a venue opened for artists to host events, performances, concerts, screenings and any forms of creative dialogue with the local community. While Maison Gai Saber is dedicated to creation, Le 178 is a space for presentation and dissemination of contemporary art, music, performance and poetry. Le 178 is located on the route to Santiago de Compostela in the historical center of Châtellerault, Nouvelle-Aquitaine in a house dating back to 11th Century and classified as a historical monument. You have to your disposal the whole house - from the cellar to attic and the three stories in between.

Le 178 avec sa belle coquille Saint Jacques sur la façade fut un relais sur la route de Compostelle pour pèlerins fatigués. La maison continue à accueillir les voyageurs-artistes. S’inspirant de cet espace singulier tout en hauteur, de la cave au grenier ils déballent leur valise, l’enrichissent, la mettent en musique dans les escaliers qui grognent.
